Koki Beach
Koki beach is on the same loop road (Haneo'o Road) as Hamoa Beach, in the remote eastern Maui town of Hana.
The beach has absolutely no facilities, but is a good spot to surf (both bodyboarding and conventional surfing) and is popular with the locals. Although technically it is a shore break, the slope of the sand is very gradual, resulting in waves that begin to break far offshore. You can be standing in 5 feet of water several hundred feet offshore at Koki Beach.
That said, this beach is unprotected and the surf can be unpredictable. There is frequently a rip current that will suck the unsuspecting far out to sea. In fact, there is a sign on the shore citing countless drownings. Know your limits. If in doubt, don't go out!

Getting There
Koki Beach is on Haneo'o Road, which is a loop road about one mile beyond Hana (towards the Pools at O'heo and Kaupo) on the Hana Highway (State Route 31). If you're heading away from Hana, turn left onto Haneo'o Road and drive about a third of a mile. Koki Beach is on the left side of the road. If you missed the first turn for Haneo'o Road, you'll drive much farther and the beach will be on the right side of the road.
