Kama'ole Beach Park II
Kama'ole II is one of the three Kama'ole Beach Parks along South Kihei Road in Kihei. It's separated from Kama'ole I and Kama'ole III by rocky outcroppings, which have good snorkeling if the water is calm. There are vacation rental condos right on the shore at the north end of this park, with fabulous views and the sound of the surf to lull you to sleep.
Hours of Operation
Kama'ole Beach Park II is supposedly open from 7:00am to 7:00pm daily. There are signs that say "Park Hours 7:00am to 7:00pm" but there is no way for them to prevent you from getting to the beach. The lifeguard stations are manned from 8:00am to 4:30pm.Weather Forecast

This is a live picture looking south at Kama'ole II from the Hale Pau Hana, which is on the point of land between Kama'ole I and Kama'ole II. If you're wondering what the surf conditions are on the beaches of South Kihei, this image is a good summary (although you should note that the beaches of Makena State Park, including Big Beach and Little Beach frequently have much stronger surf). Getting There
Kama'ole Beach Park II is on South Kihei Road just south of Kama'ole Beach Park I and just north of Kama'ole Beach Park III. There is no parking lot, but there's parking along the ocean side of South Kihei Road which is reserved for park users. Kama'ole II is easy to miss-- if you see Denny's restaurant, Kama'ole II is directly across the street (there's a concrete wall with a stairway in it that leads to the beach).

What's Nearby
Accomodations
On the ocean side of South Kihei Road there are several large condominium buildings at the north end of the park, between Kama'ole I and Kama'ole II. These buildings are in front of the rocky outcroppings that separate Kama'ole I and Kama'ole II. They are the Royal Mauian Resort, the Kamaole Nalu, and the Hale Pau Hana, each of which rents vacation condos. Any of these buildings has excellent access to Kama'ole Beach Park II also.
Near the center of the park and across South Kihei Road there's the Kihei Kai Nani vacation resort. The Kihei Akahi is across the street from the southern end of the park.
Restaurants
Across South Kihei Road there is a mini mall running nearly the entire length of Kama'ole II, with many restaurants, including Cafe O'lei, Maui Thai, a Denny's, and the Canton Chef chinese restaurant. At the south end of the park, also across the street there's going to be a Moose McGillycuddy's pub and cafe where Kai Ku Ono used to be. There's also Fred's Mexican Cafe in the same building, and the Greek Bistro and Annie's Deli and Catering in the same complex.
Convenience Stores
Right next to Fred's Mexican Cafe there's a liquor and convenience store named Kala Mart with a really nice selection of wines, among other things. They also provide free WiFi service to the entire area, including the restaurants, and they say that you can pick up the signal on the beach, so here is one place on Maui where you can theoretically sit on the beach and surf the web! There's also an ABC store downstairs of Denny's, across from the north end of the beach.
